Prayer for Inner Healing of Memories: How Do I start My Inner Healing

Inner healing begins with honesty. You come to a point in your journey where you become honest with yourself about the pain that you’ve experienced, the pain you may have caused, and how it has affected you.

You also start inner healing by accepting the fact that you need inner healing, and that you cannot do it alone.

Inner healing is a choice that you have to make and stay committed to.

You will have times where you become tired, mentally and emotionally exhausted, and fearful of what’s on the other side.

I want to encourage you that YOU CAN DO THIS!!! It is possible, and it could start today.

You must realize and do the following things:

  1. That you need inner healing (a realization that you are broken).
  2. A realization that only God can help you to truly heal and that you cannot do it alone.
  3. The journey will start with a prayer for inner healing of memories, or a prayer for emotional healing. Pray and ask God to heal you of this!
  4. You need to gain knowledge on the areas where you have been wounded.
  5. Look into your background and childhood and look into all the relationships you’ve had over the years.
  6. Ask the Holy Spirit to come alongside you and help you pinpoint any areas where you may need inner healing. This will help guide you as an additional inner healing prayer.
  7. Gather resources to help you through your inner healing: prayer journals, devotionals. Etc.
  8. Set aside scheduled time to work on your inner healing (this is very important) Inner healing can be difficult and you will experience a lot of emotions BUT you have to do the work.
  9. Meditate and practice mindfulness.

What is A Inner Healing Prayer?

You may be asking, “what is inner healing prayer”? A lot of people may not have even heard of it, or know that it is available to them.

According to Heart Journey Christian Counseling, inner prayer, “is a grace-filled encounter with the Lord that heals your heart and detoxes your soul to strengthens intimacy with Father God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. It appropriates the finished work of the cross to help you receive freedom from emotional wounds at their root, strongholds, and limiting beliefs” (source).

When I became interested in prayers for inner healing of memories, God led me to a minister name, Kay Nash.

Kay Nash introduced me to heart healing. Something I thought I was familiar with; however, I didn’t know the extent of this process.

You can check out the ministry of Kay Nash here. She has a shop where you can purchase her heart healing PDF.

I am not an affiliate of hers, but this is the second thing that has really accelerated my heart healing journey. It’s a great compliment to any inner healing prayer.

I would be remiss to not share it with you! Please go and check it out. I believe the cost is $10 for the download. It will be well worth the money.

Prayer for Inner Healing Of Memories

Lord Jesus, please come and heal my wounded and troubled heart. I beg you to heal the torments that cause anxiety in my heart; I beg you, in a particular way, to heal all who are the cause of sin.

I beg you to come into my life and heal me of the psychological harms that struck me in my early years and from the injuries that they caused throughout my life.

Lord Jesus, you know my burdens. I lay them all on your Good Shepherd’s Heart.

I beseech you-by the merits of the great, open wound in your heart to heal the small wounds that are in mine.

Heal the pain of my memories, so that nothing that has happened to me will cause me to remain in pain and anguish, filled with anxiety, depression, and emotional turmoil.

Heal, O Lord, all those wounds that have been the cause of all the evil that is rooted in my life. I want to forgive all those who have offended me. Look to those inner sores that make me unable to forgive.

You who came to forgive the afflicted of heart, please, heal my own heart.

Heal, my Lord Jesus, those intimate wounds that cause me physical, emotional, and mental illness.

I offer you, my heart. Accept it, Lord, purify it and give me the sentiments of your Divine Heart. Lord, help me to be meek and humble.

Heal me, O Lord, from the pain caused by the death of my loved ones, which is oppressing me.

Grant me to regain peace and joy in the knowledge that you are the Resurrection and the Life.

Make me an authentic witness to your Resurrection, your victory over sin and death, and your living presence among us. Amen.

Hi Jamie! Thanks for being here and for the kind words. May God continue to bless you and draw you closer to him.

  2. I knew I needed healing of something since I was 12. I have been praying for healing since that moment. I know something have been healed but not all. At age 62, I had to admit I suffered enough truama from outside myself. Meaning I didn’t cause my truama. That I have no memories of futher truama but I know I still hold deep hidden memories.

I am assuming that I am holding anger at my mother and father and extended family for how they treated me. Those were the people around during my formative years. I don’t spend time with my extended family I assume because I don’t have fond memories.

I really want to be healed of all my anxieties to be free of the pain.

    Thank you.

Praying to be free of old memories that I can’t remember that have ruined my life.

  3. Khrystal, your transparent journey through inner healing resonates deeply. Your prayer, coupled with practical steps, provides a powerful guide for those seeking emotional restoration. Your commitment to sharing this transformative process is truly inspiring.
