Matthew 10:29-31
“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
³⁰But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
³¹Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

Do you feel safe in this world? Really sit for a moment and think about that. I know I didn’t.

I can remember like it was yesterday. I was driving in my car and I was filled with fear and uncertainty. Specifically, about my life, the direction of my life, and wondering if I could really trust God to watch over me and keep me safe.

As I was driving a bird flew in front of the car. I heard the Holy Spirit, ever so gently in my soul say, “That was a Sparrow”.

From then on, I have been obsessed with this scripture. I cling to it for dear life whenever I become afraid, fearful, anxious, or unsure of God’s ability.

I don’t know why I’ve become so fearful over time. This world is just filled with so much hate, uncertainty, and death.

Through this verse, God shows us that not one sparrow will fall to the ground (or die) without his knowledge.

The scripture goes on to further assure us by saying all the hairs on our heads are numbered.

Wow! All the hairs!!!! That’s some intricoes.

Someone who has counted all the hairs on your head must really be in love with you!

This scripture ends with a wonderful realization and command.

He commands us to not fear and then assures us that if he is aware of the location of each sparrow on this earth, SURELY HE IS AWARE OF YOU!
